Elia is the founding director and principal of Lytras & Company having established the firm in 2009. He has particular expertise in the field of forensic accounting. He is also specialised in business valuations and has provided corporate advisory services to a range of corporations across varying industries.
Elia has provided expert witness testimony and opinion for matters conducted in numerous jurisdictions including the Supreme Courts of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia; the District Courts of Queensland and New South Wales, the Federal Court of Australia, the Federal Circuit Court of Australia, the Family Court of Australia, the Queensland Civil & Administrative Tribunal (including predecessor tribunals), the Land Court of Queensland, the Magistrates Court of Queensland, and the ICC International Court of Arbitration.
Elia commenced his professional career with KPMG and has also acted as Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of an unlisted public company in which he was a shareholder. He has in excess of 22 years of relevant experience.
Elia possesses Bachelor of Commerce and Masters of Business Administration degrees from the University of Queensland and is a member of CPA Australia and a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia. He has received a number of academic prizes during the course of his studies.
